DIVORCEWORKS CHATBOT – PRIVACY ADDENDUM (BETA)

This Privacy Policy explains how Helen Doukas trading as DivorceWorks (ABN 75 343 177 559) (“DivorceWorks”, “we”, “our” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), when you use the DivorceWorks Assistant (Beta). It applies together with the DivorceWorks Privacy Policy. If there is any inconsistency, this Addendum prevails for use of the Assistant.
The DivorceWorks Chatbot (Assistant) is an optional digital tool that provides general information and support for people navigating separation or divorce. It does not provide legal, financial or professional advice. This Addendum explains how your information is handled when you use the Assistant.
1. Information we collect through the Assistant
When you use the Assistant, we or our third party service providers may collect:
The text you type into the chat and the response
Your name and email address
Technical data such as browser type and device information
Limited operational logs needed to run the tool
We encourage you not to enter addresses, financial account numbers, or highly sensitive personal information into the Assistant.
2. How this information is used
Information collected through the Assistant may be used to:
Operate, maintain and improve the Assistant
Monitor safety, quality and performance
Improve DivorceWorks products and services
Prepare for legal services only if you choose to request them
Send marketing communications related to divorce and associated services.
Our third party service providers may also use information to provide services and in line with their privacy policy.
The Assistant does not make legal or financial assessments or determine outcomes.
3. Storage and processing
Assistant chat data may be stored in secure cloud-based systems that support hosting, storage and operation of the tool. These systems may be operated by trusted third-party providers and may be located overseas.
Your data is not used to train external AI models without your explicit consent.
4. Internal review
Authorised DivorceWorks personnel may review Assistant chat logs for:
quality assurance
product improvement
safety
preparing for legal services (only when you request them)
All reviews are confidential and handled in line with professional obligations.
5. Sharing information with a lawyer
If you choose to request legal services, book a consultation, or ask that your chat be reviewed:
some or all of your chat content may be reviewed by a DivorceWorks lawyer to prepare for your discussion and allow more efficient service
this sharing occurs only at your request
6. Retention
DivorceWorks retains Assistant data until it is no longer needed, before deletion or de-identification. Some trusted third-party service providers that support the Assistant may retain system logs or backup data for their own security, operational or compliance purposes, and these retention periods are determined by those providers.
7. Your rights and choices
You may:
choose whether to use the Assistant
choose whether to request legal services
request access to or correction of your information
request deletion of chat logs (within the retention period)
unsubscribe from emails
stop using the Assistant at any time
